Working with CitizenGlobal, studios are able to create custom pricing models for the sale of all their various projects. From costly per-second footage to bargain-priced audio availability to a near unlimited amount of free clips, every individual selection of media throughout the site can be set on a different level, at a difference price, divided up for the various interested studios, networks and media-buying enterprises the CG world abroad.
As one might assume, Free Media Only will be utilized anytime a project only accepts media that is free of charge. If you submit any sort of work to a Free Media Only project, then that project will have full free use of your work for whatever their purposes might be. An audio/video volunteer of sorts, you are either submitting to support the project or seeking to have your work experienced by the largest amount of people possible.
More or less, the Any Price listing applies to those who like to live and work without limits price guidelines, particularly when it comes to the amount they can potentially be paid for their work. Any Price is exactly what it sounds like: a setting allowing any price to be set for media in a given project, as high or low as it might be. If a project has set Any Price for its potential media submission, then you will be paid that amount you set, should the project showcase your media.
Most of the time, projects will set a particular price barrier for any and all media submissions. This cost jurisdiction falls under the Set Price system. With Set Price, no matter what kind of time you put in or how hard you might have worked, the project will only be willing to pay you a previously set amount, if they in fact use your media. However, just because it follows a set pricing guideline DOES NOT mean you'll be shortchanged for your work.
Similar to Any Price, the Threshold Price guideline covers all projects letting you set a cost amount, up to a certain price threshold. In these cases, the individual projects will choose this threshold price and, upon submission of your work, it's entirely up to you to set your specified amount at or below this price. This listing still provides a very competitive landscape for media, but only within a certain pre-set limit.
Always be aware that you are only paid via CG when your media is officially used. Official use falls under the following standards and guidelines:
- When a project includes your media within a cut in the editing interface and then exports it. This can be done in both high and low resolution onto the site. It can also be done for the purposes of distributing via embed code or via a project's media widget. The purchase itself is made at the EXPORT step.
- When your media is used for distribution purposes. This can be done via embed code or via project's flash player widget.
- When your media is downloaded by a project and/or studio administrator.
Remember, once you submit media, it CANNOT be removed by you. At that point, only studio and/or project administrators can remove it. In that same regard, once you set a particular price for your media in a given project, it CANNOT be changed. The price will remain at whatever amount you initially set it at for that specific project. Lastly, if you submit the same piece of media more than once to a project, it will always be submitted at the initial price. So if you submit that piece of media to a separate second folder within that same project, your initial price will remain.
