Michael Uys

Michael Uys (pronounced “ace”) is a multi award winning filmmaker and television commercial director.

He brings his documentary nous and an incredible eye to commercials and branded content, delivering fantastic and often very funny or emotive performances from celebrities, actors and real people. He creates successful digital campaigns for brands and agencies, and is known for his stylised ‘slice of life’ portraits, mini docs for and social conscience campaigns.  He has worked with an impressive roster of brands and talent including Tag Heuer, Emirates, Amex, Avon, Toys R Us, Lexus, Google, TLC, NFL, Spike TV, Viagra, Maybelline, M&Ms, the 2010 Winter Olympics, Dean and Deluca, The Washington Post, Lifetime, Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry and Kareem Abdul-Jabar. He won an Emmy and a Maysles Brothers Award for his powerful documentary The Good Soldier and his previous films have been highly awarded and even acquired by MoMA for their permanent collection. In short he’s a piece of work and a real pleasure to work with.
